ABOUT US
At TATE studio, we believe great design is rooted not only in creativity, but in trust, collaboration, and care. No matter the size or scale of a project, we are deeply committed to creating an experience that feels thoughtful, seamless, and genuinely enjoyable for our clients.
Our team brings together a dynamic blend of talents, perspectives, and expertise, allowing us to approach each project with both creativity and precision. From design development and sourcing to project coordination and execution, we work collaboratively to ensure every detail is considered and every client feels supported throughout the process.
We value strong relationships and believe the best results come from true collaboration. That means working closely with clients, builders, contractors, artisans, and trades to bring each vision to life with integrity and intention.
At the heart of our work is a soulful and thoughtful approach to design. We embrace the individuality of every client and project, creating spaces that feel personal and authentic and that bring joy to those who use them.

RACHEL BUXKAMPER, FOUNDER
Founded in 2017 by Rachel Buxkamper, TATE studio creates layered, personality-driven interiors that feel collected, intentional, and deeply lived in. Rachel’s background — from 20 years at Neiman Marcus and Horchow to a design-centric nonprofit and an AD100 interior design firm — informs the studio’s thoughtful approach to color, proportion, texture, and storytelling through design.
Rachel’s love of interiors began early, shaped by a childhood with many moves and a mother who made every house feel decorated, special, and personal — no matter the size or circumstance. While working at Neiman Marcus, Rachel began helping friends and family with design projects, eventually learning the ropes through her work with Dwell with Dignity and Jan Showers before launching TATE studio.
At the heart of Rachel’s work is the belief that no two homes, and no two clients, are alike. Rather than designing in a signature “TATE studio style,” Rachel and her team create spaces that reflect the people who live there — often beginning with a beloved piece of art, the architecture of the home, an heirloom rug, or something meaningful a client already owns.
From one-room transformations to full-scale renovations, TATE studio is known for homes that balance beauty, function, and individuality. The studio brings a collaborative, highly personal approach to the design process, helping clients move through decisions with clarity and confidence while making room for color, pattern, playfulness, and a little bit of whimsy.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Working with Rachel was a great experience. She took the time to learn my personality and the space. She not only recommended large furniture ideas, but also small detail pieces to complete the specific room she works on. She provided wall paint colors, brought in pieces to try out and layout options." - Emily
Because we know firsthand how one's environment affects your outlook on life and the ability to reach your goals, we offer our talents in designing spaces and donating products to organizations supporting formerly homeless families. We wholeheartedly support local non-profits Interfaith Family Services and Dwell with Dignity.
Interfaith Family Services
Interfaith's program first provides transitional housing, then empowers clients with career training and financial coaching, while simultaneously providing a Childcare Center and their Hope & Horizons Children & Teens Program. In our role as their Design Partner we prepare apartments for move ins, keep donated inventory fresh and organized, and help secure items needed to make each apartment a warm, safe, and welcoming home.
Dwell with Dignity
As the former Director of Development for Dwell with Dignity, Rachel has a special place for this local non-profit who designs and fills complete home interiors for families who desperately need an environment that will support health and wellness. They partner with local social services agencies that have programs in place to take families from homelessness & poverty to self-sufficiency. Often times, after a family has received all of the counseling, training, and support from partner agencies, they find themselves struggling to provide a home in which they can thrive. Dwell with Dignity addresses this critical economic need through our mission.
Help us support these two incredible organizations by visiting their websites and donating or volunteering.
